The process for flea/carpet beetle is the same with minor differences. The additional instructions for flea treatment involves pets and is annotated by
*Pets. The additional instructions for carpet beetle is annotated by *Clothing.
Preparations prior to tech arrival: Clear all floor surfaces of items. Plants, clothing, toys, boxes, shoes and anything movable that is obstructing floor access.
This includes closets and under beds as the tech must have unobstructed access to those areas.
Thoroughly vacuum your carpets, rugs, vinyl, tiled and wood flooring. Vacuum drapes and upholstered furniture paying special attention to the sides and underneath.
If you are contemplating steam cleaning/shampooing your carpets or upholstry, do it at least 2 days before treatment to ensure all material is dry.
*Pets (flea treatment)- Vacuum pet sleeping areas. Wash pet bedding the day of service in hot water and dry on high setting if you are not disposing of the bedding. If disposing the bedding, secure it in a plastic bag and place in the outside trash. Cat owners need to wipe down any area the cat(s) like to lay (shelves, window sills, fridge top, desk, etc.) Remove the litterbox from the house, dump all litter into a plastic bag and seal, dispose in outside trash. Pets must be on vet grade (Frontline, Advantix, etc.) flea treatment a day or two before or concurrent with house treatment for house treatment to be effective.
*Clothing, blankets, cloths, etc. (carpet beetle treatment)- Any animal fiber items (to include wool, fur, feathers, silk, felt and/or mixtures of these fibers), should be laundered or at least placed in a hot dryer for one hour. (Follow all label recommendations for laundering)
Immediately upon completing all vacuuming, dispose of vacuum bag in outside trash. If vacuum is bagless, remove canister, dump into a plastic bag, seal and dispose in outdoor trash.
All pets and people must be removed from the house during treatment and drying period. This includes all caged pets such as birds or hamsters. Fish tanks must be covered and any air supply to the tank turned off.
Occupants should be able to re-enter the home in 4 hours after treatment. Persons with poor health or pregnancy consult your doctor. If you find the treated surfaces wet or odor offensive upon return: Ventilate thoroughly, open windows (weather permitting), turn on fans and leave house for an additional 2 hours.
After treatment is complete: Do not clean carpets or rugs with steam cleaners/detergents for at least 6 months (spot cleaning is fine). Our product contains a growth inhibitor with a lifespan of 7 months. Steam cleaning/detergents will cause the growth inhibitor to lose potency and prematurely fade. We encourage you to vacuum often! Normal vacuuming can be resumed 24 hours after your home has been treated and should continue every 3-4 days following treatment for 3-4 weeks.
Do not use any other means of cockroach control (sprays, foggers, etc.) before or after treatment. DIY products can conflict with products we use.
Kitchens: Remove all items from cabinets and underneath sinks, items such as silverware, dishes, pots and pans, food boxes and cans. These items may be placed in bags or boxes and need to be removed from the kitchen to provide better surface access for our tech. Small appliances should be left in place. These items will be inspected and treated if necessary. Pull fridge and stove away from the wall 1 foot if you can. Empty all trash cans.
Bathrooms: Remove toothbrushes, water glasses, and personal items. Remove items from underneath the sink. Remove any items from bathroom cabinets. Place these items in plastic bags or boxes.
Make sure all childrens toys and pet toys are put away. Remove all pet food and water dishes from areas that will be treated.

Clean all countertops, tables, and food preparation surfaces thoroughly with soapy water. You may see an increased number of roaches for several days after treatment. This is normal as they respond to baiting and will continue to decrease on a day to day basis thereafter. Cultivate your patience :). The process can take from 3 weeks to 2 months to eliminate all roaches due to the biological make-up of the cockroach.
In all scheduled treatment rooms, unplug electrical equipment (computers, printers, TVs, DVDs, clocks, etc.) and move equipment away from the walls. Provide adequate access to all
baseboards in treatment area.
Seal all items below in plastic bags and place in the center of the rooms scheduled for treatment:
* All items inside the closet
* Items under the bed
* Items on top and inside furniture (dressers, desks, cabinets, etc.)
* Bedding (pillowcases, mattress pads, sheets, blankets, etc.)
* Media items (data disks, tapes, audiocassettes, CDs, DVDs etc.)
* Umbrellas, hats, scarves, shoes, linens, and towels
* All trash items (these can be discarded after treatment in outside receptacle)
Do not remove items from infested rooms until AFTER treatment is complete. This prevents bed
bugs transferring to other parts/rooms in the property.
All child/pet toys and anything else that may be placed in the mouth MUST be removed from treatment area. Items should be placed in a plastic bag and sealed.
After Treatment:
Shoes and stuffed animals must be put in high heat dryer for a minimum of 30 mins. Discard used plastic bag immediately in outside trash.
Transfer sealed bags containing clothing, bedding, towels (all fabric materials) one at a time to laundry room. Following garment label wash at highest temps allowed,
dry at highest setting possible. Discard used plastic bag immediately in outside trash.
Items that cannot be washed (drapes, curtains, upholstery, gentle fabrics, etc.) should be dropped off inside a sealed plastic bag at a professional dry-cleaner. Include warning
signs for each bag warning cleaners of potential infestation.
Carefully go through remaining bag items opening and examine everything. Pay special attenion to cracks and crevice areas on items.
We strongly recommend that you encase your pillows, mattress and box spring in an approved bed bug encasement system for a period of one year.
